01 What is a Question Tag?

Question Tag एक छोटा सा प्रश्न है जो वाक्य के अंत में लगता है। इसे Tail Question या Tag Question भी कहते हैं।

Purpose: Confirmation (पुष्टि) या Agreement (सहमति) लेने के लिए।

📝 Examples:

You are a student, aren't you?

She doesn't like tea, does she?

Ram can swim, can't he?

02 Structure of Question Tags

Auxiliary Verb + Pronoun + ?

सहायक क्रिया + सर्वनाम + प्रश्नचिह्न

04 Question Tags in All Tenses

PAST TENSES
Simple Past did She went, didn't she?

06 Special Cases (विशेष नियम)

🔵 1. "I am" → Tag: "aren't I?"

I am your friend, aren't I? (NOT "amn't I")

I am late, aren't I?

🟢 2. "Let's" → Tag: "shall we?"

Let's go for a walk, shall we?

Let's play cricket, shall we?

🟠 3. "Let him/her/them" → Tag: "will you?"

Let him go, will you?

Let them play, will you?

🟣 4. Imperative Sentences → Tag: "will you?" / "won't you?"

Open the door, will you?

Please help me, will you?

Don't make a noise, will you?

🔴 5. "There" as Subject → Tag: "there"

There is a book, isn't there?

There are many students, aren't there?

🔷 6. This/That → Tag: "it"

This is your book, isn't it?

That was a good movie, wasn't it?

💗 7. Everyone/Everybody/Someone/Nobody → Tag: "they"

Everyone is happy, aren't they?

Somebody called you, didn't they?

Nobody knows the answer, do they?

💜 8. Nothing/Everything/Something → Tag: "it"

Everything is fine, isn't it?

Nothing was found, was it? (Nothing = Negative)

Something is wrong, isn't it?

08 Negative Words (नकारात्मक शब्द)

⚠️ These words make sentences NEGATIVE (Tag will be POSITIVE)
